Villa Nikolaou is a traditional house situated in the historical village of Ancient Eleftherna . It lies at the edge of a wide valley at the foot of Psiloritis mountain , the tallest in Crete . The name of the village comes from the ancient city of Eleftherna and its ruins can be found just outside the village. The ancient city of Eleftherna is considered to be one of the most important archeological sites discovered in the whole country. The villa is 28 km from Rethymno and 16 km from Panormo, where you can find a beautiful beach and enjoy the amazing food of the fish taverns. Close to the village of Ancient Eleftherna you can visit the historical monastery of Arkadi, which is about 6 km away.
Villa Nikolaou was renovated recently with great care by the owners. It is about 90 m2 in two floors and can accommodate 4-5 people in two bedrooms. 1 bedroom is with double bed and one with twin beds. Bedrooms and the main bathroom are at the first floor. At this floor, there is a huge veranda with exceptional view to the surrounding mountains. In the ground floor there is a living/dining room with a fireplace and traditional furniture, including an old loom, which brings you back to the beginning of the previous century. The living room is next to the traditional kitchen, which has its old stone fireplace. In the ground floor there is also a small WC.
Outside the villa there are pretty gardens with colorful flowers and a 40 m2 swimming pool. The swimming pool is at the edge of the plot and you can enjoy the amazing view down the deep valley, while you swim. This is a lovely spot for a quiet and relaxing holiday.
